TJ sourcing local produce
Suppliers

The Abbey Inn, Byland Abbey

Using quality, local produce and supporting local businesses are very important to us. We have built a network of local suppliers and often buy direct from the farmer.

We try where possible to use only the finest locally grown produce in our restaurant.

We also exchange a couple of pints with regulars who bring in their home-grown produce - our favourites are 'Dave The Brush' and his lovely wife Nina from Marton, who bring us their brambles, chillies and gorgeous baby tomatoes. Some of our new neighbours in Wass have started too ~ Roger & Wendy bring fabulous plums down & June next door drops in with fresh rosemary ~ thank you Marge, our full-time front of house person, and her husband Pete keep us well supplied with Elderberries and Sloes from their paddock in the Autumn and through them we have built a great relationship with Place Newton Shoot, Winteringham who supply our game and of course we are kept very busy picking fresh fruit, herbs, salad leaves and wild garlic from our own garden.
